Skip Hire Permits

Where do you want it – Driveway or Public Highway?

If you’re planning on having the skip outside your house on a public road you could need to get a permit from Manchester council or any of the neighbouring councils such as Salford, Trafford etc.

If you have space for the skip in your drive you have no need to worry, just make sure you are not blocking access if its a shared drive. If you have a bit of grass outside your house and are planning on leaving it there please check you actually own this bit of land first. Just because you cut the grass, it doesn’t mean its yours!

In Manchester City centre areas you may not be allowed to leave a skip in the road at all, permit or not, as there is simply not enough space in the road to safely do so.
